Changing market, changing focus

As the Ocala Real Estate market has changed, so has my focus. Deciding to stop selling real estate was one of the hardest decisions I've had to make.

The reason for the decision had a little to do with the market conditions, but more to do with the fact that the parts of the job I enjoyed most, and the parts I was the best at, while important, were not the most important parts of the job.

The internet has completely changed the way properties are marketed. The old ways (print advertising) are outdated and becoming less and less effective. Yes, there is still a place for print advertising, but it should not be as large of a part of the overall marketing plan as it once was. Now, it's all about the internet. To get exposure, you can't beat it! Your listings can be seen around the world, for very little of your marketing dollars. The problem that most agents have with marketing on the internet isn't the cost...most of it is free or very inexpensive. The problem is:

Finding the time to place all those ads!

You can literally spend entire days marketing one listing, beefing up your online profiles, taking care of your blog, etc. That doesn't leave much time for actually working with clients.

I loved sharing with other agents all the great places I found for them to market their listings. I got the same answer from most of them: "That's great! But there's no way I'll have time to do that." Now, I will be doing it for them.

So, you will still see Ocala Homes for sale on this blog. Actually, you will see many more of them! They won't be my listings, though. They will be listings from other Ocala real estate agents that simple have found a way to get incredible exposure for their listings, and still have time to focus on their clients.
